My name is Anna Varghese and I proudly serve as a member of the Milton School Committee. I am excited to announce my candidacy for re-election and humbly ask for your support. When I first ran for the School Committee, my platform was built around three core values: fostering strong academics, increasing community involvement, and empowering our teachers to focus on what they do best. I am committed to offering the stability and continuity that our schools and families need to thrive, and I will continue to work hard to support them in every way I can. My husband, John, and I have called Milton home since 2007, and together, we are proud parents to two amazing young women, Rachel (14) and Isabel (13).
I truly believe that through collaboration and respect, we can work together to continue to provide an incredible educational experience for every student in our town. Throughout my time on the School Committee, I’ve always been guided by my moral compass, listening to all perspectives, and making decisions based on what is right, even when those decisions aren’t the easiest or most popular. I am committed to supporting our teachers — they are the heartbeat of our district, and their work is invaluable.
The past three years have been a profound journey of growth. Along the way, I've discovered the importance of listening, the strength in standing firm in my beliefs — even when faced with obstacles — and the courage to speak my truth. These are values I hope to pass on to my daughters because I believe they are essential to creating a better world. I am incredibly grateful for my family's unwavering support, which has strengthened my voice in a community that often feels divided. Their encouragement has given me the confidence to stand up for what I believe is right, even in the face of difficult choices.
I am truly humbled by the faith you showed in me three years ago, and as we approach this election, I ask for your support once again. I hope I can count on your vote on April 29th.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Anna Varghese
